What was the First Champagne House?

Not what most people think.

Dom Pérignon, you know that pesky little monk in France, was the 1st visionary and creator of those wonderful bubbles back in the 1600s. Moet Chandon had Dom under them, but Moet was a bit slow in the marketing department!

Per the Champagne Bureau, another grabbed the right to call themselves the first Champagne house, and that was Ruinart in 1729.

Some info on today’s House of Ruinart follows:

Some other videos follow at the end on other houses, including Dom Perignon.
