Wine Tasting Weekend
Only a few miles from Napa, California is a wine appellation in Rutherford, California and they are showing their best this weekend. Beginning on Saturday, December 5, 2009 and ending Sunday, December 6, 2009, The Rutherford Appellation Winery Group will host “Rutherford Passport Weekend”. The participating wineries will have various enticements for Passport holders, among winery offerings: special tastings, food pairings, entertainment, discounts on wine club memberships, discounts on wine purchases, and other things. Many have gift shops as well, so better bring your holiday gift list!
The Rutherford Appellation is home to some very well known wineries. However, the smaller boutique wineries are a pleasant surprise and you owe it to yourself to try these too — this is why you should try for the two day pass if you can. If you live near by or you can attend this event, it is the perfect opportunity to get to know all the participating wineries in a festive holiday atmosphere. Rutherford also has some of the area’s finest restaurants and hotels and I will cover this appellation extensively at a later time.
This event will highlight only members of The Rutherford Appellation Winery Group. Therefore, wineries participating over the Rutherford Passport Weekend are:
Alpha Omega, Beaulieu Vineyard (aka: BV), Elizabeth Spencer, Fransican Estates, Honig Vineyard and Winery, Martin Estate, Peju Province Winery, Pina Napa Valley, Provenance Vineyards, Round Pond, Rubican Estate, Rutherford Hill Winery, St. Supery Vineyards and Winery, Tres Sabores Winery, and Slaughterhouse Cellers.
Rutherford Passport 2-Day Pass is $65.00 and Sunday only is $50.00. Please click the following link for more information on what each winery will have for this special event (please see their tab under Wineries) and how to buy tickets:
