Judgment in New York for Chilean Wine?

Congratulations to Chilean wine Errazuriz KAI for capturing first place beating out California’s Opus One & Bordeaux’s Château Haut-Brion, all reds and 2006 vintages. This was a blind tasting held on Monday with New York’s finest (no not NYPD — this time!) top retailers, sommeliers, and wine critics. All wines in this class were higher end. The winning wine is around $80.00 a bottle retail while Haut-Brion is $500.00+/- depending on where you purchase it.

This came as a surprise to many. Is it another”Judgment in Paris” that put California wines on the map? We will see.

Cheers then Enjoy!
